ROW CROP FARMERS,
THE RULES OF THE GAME
Margins are thin. Debt loads are high. Government policies cause endless headaches. Remaining profitable in today’s market requires a level of expertise in both the office and the field that is pushing the limit for independent growers.
BUT ALONGSIDE THESE CHALLENGES,
WE SEE OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOU TO
LEAD THE WAY IN AGRICULTURE.
With the right support from our Iowa farming business management experts, you can create a better future for yourself, your family, and the industry as a whole. That’s our mission at Growers Axis® Puts the Business in Your Family Farm.
Founders Dave Handsaker and Dave Stamp grew up in ag and witnessed the pork market downturn of the mid-1990s. They saw how that industry handled its excess supply, tightening its processes and transforming itself into the most efficient pork production system in the world.
These experiences inspired a new vision for row crop farming that ensures maximum profitability while preserving the culture of family farming. And with today’s technology, the power to bring that vision to life is within reach of growers like you.
Realizing that potential requires the ability to choose the specific farm business and crop management solutions that work within your operation as a whole. We’ve developed the team, the tools, and the expertise an Iowa farm business manager and crop consultant really needs to partner with you in carrying forward the tradition of family farming … with greater precision, profitability, and capacity for growth.

Having grown up on a farm, Dave studied agronomy and animal science in college, earning a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State. He continues to operate his own family farm, deepening his understanding of both production and the business side of farming. He frequently consults for other western Iowa farmers to help them grow their operations.
Dave has a unique ability to understand how all the pieces of a farm business fit together. He knows how to identify opportunities and bring in top professionals to make the most of them. He leads Growers Axis® Puts the Business in Your Family Farm experts and partners in delivering business recommendations in the right areas for each grower.

Travis Miller, Technology Team Lead
Travis has been advising growers for nearly 20 years, helping them troubleshoot problems and find creative solutions to increase yield and profitability. He is unstoppable in figuring out a challenge in the corn or bean field.
Born and raised on a farm in northwest Iowa, Travis earned a bachelor’s from Iowa State in agronomy and ag business, then went to work in the seed industry. He became a top 3 performer in one of the largest seed companies in North America, where his achievements centered on a holistic approach to bringing his customers value.
Travis is also a landowner himself, active in production ag, which gives him personal insight into the real world struggles of farming. With a passion for digging beneath the surface, he continues to uncover ways to drive yield and profitability into farm operations.
Brian Frischmeyer, Agronomy Team Lead
Brian has dedicated his 25+ year agronomy career to helping family farmers improve their yield, care for their land, and protect their bottom line. He brings deep technical knowledge in agronomy and seed genetics as well as lifelong experience in production ag.
After earning his Bachelor’s in Agronomy from Northwest Missouri State, he spent 10 years advising growers through the Cooperative system. He then joined Monsanto/Bayer as a technical agronomist, responsible for ensuring dealers, growers, and sales managers had all the information they’d need to make the best growing decisions for their locales. As a “third responder” he’s been the top guy called in to troubleshoot issues beyond the skill of local agronomists.
Brian jumped at the chance to join Growers Axis® Puts the Business in Your Family Farm as a pure advisor and partner for growers, without a requirement to sell product. Already at the top of his field, he continues to research products and field data to understand and deliver the best possible solutions for growers.
